AMSOIL Heavy Duty Synthetic Diesel Engine Oil
AMSOIL Heavy Duty Synthetic Diesel Engine Oils are engineered for diesel engines working under demanding loads and operating conditions. Commercial vehicles, towing applications, agricultural equipment and other hard-working diesel engines can subject lubricants to sustained heat, soot loading and mechanical stress, making lubricant durability an important part of engine protection.
Built for Demanding Diesel Service
Heavy-duty diesel oil must protect critical engine components while resisting oxidation, deposit formation and excessive viscosity change. Sustained operation under load can expose the lubricant to high temperatures for extended periods, while combustion by-products must be managed without allowing harmful deposits to accumulate inside the engine.
Viscosity stability is also important in severe service. Oil that permanently shears out of grade may no longer provide the viscosity characteristics intended for the engine. Our article explaining stay-in-grade engine oil provides more detail on mechanical shear and lubricant viscosity stability.
Select by Specification, Not Just Application
The term heavy duty describes the service environment, but the oil must still meet the particular requirements of the engine. Check the required viscosity, diesel performance classification and manufacturer specifications before selecting a product. The AMSOIL Oil Standards Guide provides additional background on lubricant classifications and terminology.
