AMSOIL Synthetic Power Transmission EP Gear Oil PTN is an ISO VG 320 synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO) gear lubricant developed for wind turbine main gearboxes and other heavily loaded industrial gear drives. Its extreme-pressure additive system helps protect gears and bearings against micropitting, scuffing and wear under high loads and shock-loading conditions.

Protection for Wind Turbine Gearboxes

Wind turbine gearboxes encounter changing speeds, high contact pressures and demanding service conditions. PTN provides a durable lubricating film to protect gear teeth and bearings against wear, while its shear-stable formulation helps maintain viscosity and film strength in service.

Long-Term Lubricant Performance

Synthetic PAO base oils provide strong thermal and oxidative stability, helping resist deposits and lubricant degradation over extended periods of operation. This makes PTN suitable for applications where oil changes are logistically difficult and equipment downtime is costly, subject to the equipment manufacturer's maintenance requirements and oil-analysis programme.

Water Resistance & Filtration

PTN is formulated to resist water contamination, separate water from oil and inhibit rust and corrosion. Its solids-free additive system supports fine filtration and helps maintain lubricant cleanliness in industrial circulation systems.

Industrial Gear Applications

In addition to wind turbine main gearboxes, PTN is intended for suitable enclosed industrial gear drives, including heavily loaded helical, bevel and spur gear systems requiring an ISO VG 320 extreme-pressure lubricant. Always confirm the lubricant grade and required approvals for the specific equipment before use.

Industrial Supply & Commercial Enquiries

AMSOIL Australia welcomes enquiries from wind farm operators, maintenance contractors and industrial procurement teams. We can discuss product suitability, commercial quantities, recurring supply requirements and the logistics of delivering lubricants to regional or remote sites.

For planned maintenance, multi-drum orders or ongoing supply arrangements, we encourage you to contact AMSOIL Australia directly. Freight costs and delivery lead times depend on the quantity, destination, site access and unloading requirements and should be confirmed before ordering.

Performance Standards & Manufacturer Requirements

AMSOIL lists PTN against ANSI/AGMA 9005-F16 (EP), DIN 51517 Part 3 CLP, ISO 12925-1 Type CKD and a range of gearbox-manufacturer requirements. Refer to current AMSOIL industrial documentation and your gearbox manufacturer for the applicable approvals or recommendations; listing a manufacturer does not imply universal approval for every gearbox model.
